2nd Group Stage match of CLT20 2014 was played between Kings XI Punjab and Hobart Hurricanes at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh. Punjab with superb batting dperformances won the match by 5 wickets. NLTC Perera (Kings XI Punjab) declared man of the match for his firing inning of 35 runs of 20 balls and picked up 2 important wickets.

Earlier Punjab won the toss and chose to field first and let Hurricanes to set target. Hurricanes start inning with BR Dunk and skipper TD Paine. Skipper could not stood in middle for long and lost wicket scoring just 11 balls. Dunk and Blizzard became vistims of Perera. Middle order batsmen TR Birt (28) and JW Wells (28) played some good cricket and put Hurricanes on 144 runs at the end of 20 overs.

Following target of 145 runs, Punjab could not made batter start and lost V Sehwag on very forst ball of inning. Next coming batsman W Saha also departed early scoring just 11 runs. DA Miller also departed on duck. Middle order batsmen GJ Maxwell and skipper GJ Bailey played sensible cricket and took the charge in hand. GJ MAxwell played superb inning of 43 runs of just 25 balls. Skipper not out till and and successfully chased guven target in 17.4 overs.

NLTC Perera (Kings XI Punjab) declared man of the match for his firing inning of 35 runs of 20 balls and picked up 2 important wickets.
