At the end of the game after the fourth ODI in Dharamsala, the official broadcaster Star Sports displayed India as the winners of the ODI series by a 2-1 margin. As the West Indies tour to India has cancelled, with the BCCI saying it had been called off by the WICB and announcing a replacement tour. It clarified that it was "left no option" by the West Indies players.
The reason for cancelling tour at mid of the series were protracted payment structure dispute between the players, the WICB and West Indies Players' Association.
India would now play five ODIs against Sri Lanka between November 1 and 15, after Sri Lanka Cricket accepted the invitation to fill the void.
