IPL 7 Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Report

IPL Season 7 First match has been played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Earlier Kolkata skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and decided to bat first. KKR could not made batter start and lost skipper Gautam Gambhir early for no score. But, Manish Pandey joined with JH Kallis and played good cricket in slog overs. Both played well and contributed well for Kolkata. Manish Pandey made 64 runs before he lodt wickets and JH Kallis contributed 72 runs of 46 balls with 3 massive sixes and 5 fantastic fours. At the end of 20 overs Kolkata managed to put decent score of 163 runs lost of 5 wickets.

Following target of 164 runs, Mumbai Indians started slowly with MEK Hussay and Aditya Tare. Both openers started well but could not stayed long in middle and lost wickets early. Middle order bastmam AT Rayudu and skipper Rohit Sharma took the charge. RG Sharma falls scoring 27 runs. AT Rayudu also lost his wickets in hurry and made 48 runs. Lower Batsmen could not perform well and at the end of 20 overs Mumbai managed to score 122 runs and lost the match by 41 runs.

Thus, Kolkata got 2 points and Mumbai yet to open an account in IPl Season 7. JH Kallis of Kolkata declared man of the match for his veluable inning of 72 runs of just 46 balls.
