3rd match of Big Bash 2016-17 has been played between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder today at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne. Thunder won the toss and chose to field first. Putting into bat first, Melbourne Renegades put good total of 179 runs in 20 overs. Renedades skipper AJ Finch played well and contributed 63 runs of just 37 balls with 3 fours and 4 massive sixes. CJ Ferguson also played good inning of 38 runs and Renegades put 179 runs for Thunder to get in 20 overs.

Following taget of 180 runs, Sydney Thunder lost KR Patterson on very 1st ball of inning & EJG Morgan gone in 2nd over and pt team in trouble. RJ Gibson and skipper BJ Rohrer played good cricket and contributed well 39 and 30 runs respectively before lost their wickets to Hogg. Other batsmen failed to bat well, PJ Cummins tried his best with quick 36 of 23 balls but Thunder continued to lost wickets at other end. Sydney Thunder inning ended scoring 130 runs in 19.1 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 49 runs. AJ Finch (Melbourne Renegades) declared man of the match for his 63 runs of 37 balls.
