6th match of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has been played between England vs New Zealand of Group A on Tuesday, June 06, 2017 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Puting into bat first by New Zealand, England with AD Hales, JE Root and JC Buttler's fifties managed to put huge srore of 310 runs in 50 overs. New Zealand in reply managed to score 223 runs and lost the match by 87 runs. LE Plunkett took 4 wickets for England but Jake Ball's 2 important wkts with good economy gave him man of the match.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first. Putting into bat first England lost J Roy early scoring just 13 runs. AD Hales and JE Root took the charge in hand for England and played sensible cricket as well. AD Hales played good inning of 56 runs before lost his wicket to AF Milne. Skipper EJG Morgan joined with Root but left the field contributing 13 runs. Joe Root at other end played well and anchore England inning as well. BA Stokes gave good company to Root and played useful inning of 48 runs for England. Joe Root also made well 64 runs before bowled by CJ Anderson. In later overs wicketkeeprs batsman JC Buttler played superb quick cricket and smashed 61 runs of 48 ball and helps England to put good total of 310 runs in 50 overs. CJ Anderson and Adam Milne took 3 wickets each for New Zealand.

Following huge target of 311 runs, New Zealand lost L Ronchi in very 1st over for a duck. MJ Guptill also made his way scoring 27 runs. Skipper KS Willimson once again played excellent inning of 87 runs but other middle and lower order batsmen failed to stood in middle for long and lost wickets in regular interwals. New Zealand team all out scoring 223 run in 44.3 overs and lost the match by 87 runs.
