11th match of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has been played between India and South Africa of Group B on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Kennington Oval, London. Having won the toss, India with good bowling performances restricted South Africa on 191 runs and all out in 44.3 overs. B Kumar and Bumrah picked up 2 wickets each. India in reply made chase of 192 easily in 38 overs having lost 2 wkts and win by 8 wickets. S Dhawan made 78 and Kohli contributed 76* runs. JJ Bumrah declared man of the match for his tight bowling and 2 wickets.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. Putting into bat first by India, South Africa got slow but steady start with Q e Kock and HM Amla initially. Both played good cricket and added 76 runs for 1st wicket before Amla got out bowled by R Ashwin scoring 35 runs. Q de Kock also left the field bowled by RA Jadeja contributing well 53 runs. Skipper AB de Villiers and DA Miller became victims of Indian excellent fielding and both run out having score 16 and 1 run respectively. F de Plessis and JP Duminy came in middle for damage control and played good cricket for few overs. Plessis fall against Pandya and got bowled out scoring 36 runs. Other lower orders surrendered against B Kumar and JJ Bumrah and South Africa team all out in 44.3 overs having score 191 runs.
Following small target of 192 runs, India could not made good start and lost RG Sharma early scoring 12 runs. V Kohli joined with S Dhawan and played superb cricket initially. Both smashed fifties and put India on driving seat as well. S Dhhawan made very well 78 runs and Kolhi contributed un-beaten 76 runs and presented well deserve win over South Africa by huge margins of 8 wickets with 72 balls remaining. India got ticket to semi final as well. India will play with Bangladesh in 2nd semi final to qualify for Final of Champions Trophy 2017. JJ Bumrah and B Kumar bowled well and took 2 wickets each but, Bumrah got man of the match.
