1st T20i match of limited overs match series between India vs England played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday, 22 January, 2025.

Putting into bat first by India, England with poor batting performances managed to set 133 runs target for India to get. England skipper Jos Buttler played brave and quick inning of 68 runs of 44 balls. Varun Chakravarthy picked up 3 wickets. Arshdeep, Hardik and Axar shared 2 wickets each for India as well.

Following small target of 133 runs, India started inning very aggressively with Sanju and Abhishek. Sanju played good inning of 26 runs and Abhishek Sharma smashed 34 balls 79 runs in his super quick inning. India made chase easily in 12.5 overs and won the match comprehensively by 7 wickets. Varun Chakravarthy declared man of the match for his 3 wkts. India led 5-match series 1-0.
