Opting to bat first, New Zealand lost MJ Guptill early scoring just 1 run, HM Nicholls also made his way scoring 28 runs. Skipper KS Willimson and Ross Taylor took the charge in hand for New Zealand and played slow but sensible cricket in middle overs. Willimson gone contributing well 67 runs but, Taylor scoring 67 runs remain in middle to shape up Kiwi's inning. Rain stopped the match in 47th over and called off for next day. Play resume next day and New Zealand add more 28 runs and set 240 runs target for India to get. India lost top 3 batsmen just in 5 runs and put pressure on middle orders to chasr 240 runs. RA Jadeja played wondreful inning of 59 balls 77 runs with MS Dhoni's fifty but unfortunately Team India all out scoring 221 runs and lost the match by 18 runs. Matt Henry bowled well and took 3 wickets. He declared man of the match.
