Match 29 : RG Sharma's sensible 87 runs followed by Shami's 4 for & Bumrah's 3 for powered India to knees down England by 100 runs
29th Match of ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 between India vs England at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpai Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Putting into bat first by England, India with poor batting performances managed to set small target of 230 runs for England to get. Rohit Sharma with 87 runs and Suryakumar Yadav with 49 runs were top scorer for India. David Willey tok 3 wicket. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid picked up 2 wickets each for England as well.
Following small target of 230 runs, England team surrender against India's pace attack badly and at one stage were 5/52 in 15.1 overs. Most English batsmen faild to stood in middle for long and team all out in 34.5 overs having score just 129 runs. India made comprehensive win by 100 runs. This is India's 6th consecitve win in tournament as well. Mhd Shami with 4 for 22 runs and Bumrah with 3 for 32 runs were top bowlers. Rohit Sharma declared man of the match for his anchoring 87 runs.
