Putting into bat first by New Zealand, Sri Lanka's most batsmen faild to bat well and all out scoring just 171 runs in 46.4 overs. Kusal Perera the only batsman who played well and made 51 runs of 28 balls. Trent Boult with 3 wickets was top bowler for New Zealand.
Following small target of 172 runs, New Zealand with quick batting performances made chase easily in 23.2 overs and won the match comprehensively by 5 wickets.
