Super Eight Match 8 : Rahmanullah & Zadran's fifties followed by Gulbadin Naib's 4 for 20 led Afghanistan to upset Australia by 21 runs

8th match of ICC t20 Worldcup 2024 Super Eight stage played between Australia vs Afghanistan at Arnos Vale Ground, St Vincent, Kingstown on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Putting into bat first by Australia, Afghanistan got wonderful start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. Both added 118 runs for 1st wicket before Gurbaz got out scoring 60 runs. Ibrahim Zadran aosl made 51 runs. Other batsmen failed to bat well and Afghanistan set 149 runs for Australia to get. Pat Cummins took 3 wickets for Australia.

Following 149 runs target, Australia's most batsmen failed to bat well and all out scoring 127 runs in 19.2 overs. Glenn Maxwell with 41 balls 59 runs was top scorer for Australia. Afghaniatan won the match by 21 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq took 3 wickets of 20 runs. Gulbadin Naib also bowled well and picked up 4 wickets of 20 runs. He declared man of the match.
