Super 12 : NZ vs SL : GD Phillips' 64 balls 104 runs & Boult's 4 for 13 led New Zealand to win over Sri Lanka by 65 runs
ICC T20 worldcup 2022 Sri Lanka New Zealand match played on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney.
Opting to bat first, New Zealand lost three wickets early on eam score 15 runs in 4 overs. Glenn Phillips came into bat and played wonderful inning of 64 balls 104 runs with 10 fours and 4 massive sixes. New Zealand set good target of 168 runs for Sri Lanka to get. Kasun Rajitha took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.
Following 168 runs, Sri Lanka lost five wickets of just 24 runs. Dasun Shanaka played sensible inning of 35 runsbut Sri Lanka managed to score just 102 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 65 runs. Trent Boult bowled well and took 4 wickets of 13 runs. GD Phillips declared man of the match for his superb 104 runs.
