12th ICC Cricket World Cup was played in England : England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias, South Africa, Bangladesh and Afghanistan participated for the 12th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 48 games were played for ICC Worldcup title. New zealand and home team England played final match. New zealand beat Australia in Semi Final match and home team England best India in Semi Final. Thouugh out the tournament New zealand performed very well but, in final England won in in super over. Both teams scores level 241 runs each in 50 overs and also 15 runs each in super over as well. Unfortunately, England declared winner for hitting maximum boundaries. Ben Stoke (England) played good inning of 84* runs in final match and declared man of the match. KS Willimson declared man of the series for his huge contribution with bat. Rohit Sharma (Ind) scores maximum 648 runs and MA Starc (Aus) took maximum 27 wickets in tournament. |
