2nd qualifier match of ICC Worldt20 2016 has been played today between Afghanistan and Scotland at Vidarbha Cricket Stadium, Nagpur. After winning toss Afghanistan opted bat first. Afghanistan put huge totals of 170 runs in 20 overs with top orders sensible batting preformances. Mohammad Shahzad made 61 and skipper Asghar Stanikzai contributed well 55* of 50 balls. Scotland in reply score 156/5 and lost the match by 14 runs. Mohammad Shahzad (Afghanistan) declared man of the match for his 61 runs.
Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Afghanistan got good start but lost Noor Ali Zadran early scoring 17 runs. Skipper Asghar Stanikzai joined with Mohammad Shahzad and played superb cricket for Afghanistan in middle overs. Both played well and contributed well 55* amd 61 runs. At the end of 20 overs Afghanistan put huge totals of 170 runs for Scotland to achieved.
Following huge target of 171 runs, Scotland made slow but steady start initially. Both openers HG Munsey and KJ Coetzerplayed well and added 84 runs for 1st wicket. They made 41 and 40 runs repsectively. Other middle and lower order batemen could not bat well and Scotland managed to score 156/5 in 20 overs and lost the match by 14 runs.
