4th match of ICC Worldt20 qualifier round has been played between Ireland and Oman at HPCA Cricket Stadium, Dharamsala today. Opting to bat first, Ireland put 154 runs for Oman to achieved in 20 overs. GC Wilson was top scorer and he made 38 runs of 34 balls for Ireland. Oman in reply played marvellous cricket and upset Ireland by defeating by 2 wickets with 2 balls spare to bowl. Aamer Ali (Oman) declared man of the match for his firing inning of 32 runs of just 17 balls.
Earlier, Scotland won the toss and decided to bet first and set decent traget for Oman. Ireland got confident start with skipper WTS Porterfield and PR Stirling initially. Both played well and added 48 runs for the 1st wicket before PR Stirling got out scoring 29 runs. Skipper also made 29 runs before lost his wicket. Wicketkeeper batsman GC Wilson came in middle and contributed well 38 runs of 34 balls. Middle orders also contributed well and put Ireland on 154 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Following target of 155 runs, Oman got fluent start with opening batsmen Zeeshan Maqsood and Khawar Ali initially. Both played confident cricket and contributed well 38 and 34 runs respectively. Jatinder Singh also played good inning of 24 runs before lost his wickets. In later overs debut man Aamer Ali took nthe crarge in hand and played extra ordinery inning for Oman. He smashed 32 runs of just 17 balls and presented well deserve win by 2 wickets with 2 balls remaining.
