1st twenty20 international match of 3-match series played between India and Australiac at Ranchi today. Putting into bat first by India, Australia most batsmen failed to stood in middle for long and managed to scroe 118/8 runs in 18.4 overs and rain stopped the match. India given revised target of 488 runs to get in 6 overs. India made chase easily in 5.3 overs and won the match by 9 wickets (DLS). Kohli made 22 runs of 14 balls but Kuldeep Yadav awarded man of the match award for his exellent bowling spell 4-0-16-2.
Earlier, India won the toss and opted to field first. Putting into bat first by Indie, Australia open inning with acting captain DA Warner and AJ Finch. Skipper Warner tried to over come Bhuvnestwar in very first over and hitz two fours in first 4 balls of the match. The battle won by Bhuvi as he bowled Warner on 5th ball and put Australia in troble as well. At other end Finch played excellent cricket and contributed well 42 runs of 30 balls before bowled out by Kuldeep Yadav. GJ Maxwell also tried to went after Chahal but as previous ODI matches knees down by YS Chahal and cought by Bumrah of Chahal's intelligent bowling scoring 17 runs. Other middle and lower orders could not stood in middle for long and lost wickets in regular interwals. Australia were 118/8 in 18.4 overs and rain stopped the match. After an hour interruption by rain match started again with revised total of 48 runs target given to India get in 6 overs.
India came into bat after rain delayed and follow 46 runs to win in 6 overs. India lost RG Sharma early scoring 11 runs in 2nd over. Skipper V Kohli joined with S Dhawan and played sensible cricket for India. Both bated till end and presented well deserved win over Australia by 9 wickets with 3 balls remaining (DLS). S Dhawan made 15 runs and Kohli contributed quick 22 runs of 14 balls to a comprehensive win over Australia.
