England resumed with 114/0 on 5th day morning and declared inning scoring 260 runs and put 310 runs target to India to win the match in 49 overs. England skipper AN Cook played well and contributed 130 and H Hameed made 82 runs. India in reply managed to score 172 runs having lost 6 wickets at stump day5 and drawn the match. MM Ali declared man of the match for his all round performance with century in 1st inning and picked up 3 wickets in match.

India resumed with 319/4 on 4th day morning and lost V Kohli scoring 40 and AM Rahane with 13 runs in quick successions. R Ashwin and WP Shaha took the charge in hand and played good innings for India. WP Saha added 35 runs and R Ashwin made very well 70 runs and put India's 1st inning totals on 488 runs. England got lead of 49 runs in 1st innings over India. England came in to bat and got confident start with skipper AN Cook and H Hameed. Both played good cricket and added 114 runs for the 1st wicket and remained unbeaten till stump day 4. With 114/0 in 2nd inning England lead by 163 runs with 10 wickets remaining.

England resumed with 311/4 on 1st day score in 2nd day morning and all out scoring huge 537 runs at tea time. After JE Root's wonderful 124 on 1st day, MM ALi and BA Stokes also smashed centuries for England and contributed well 117 and 128 runs with outstanding batting performances. Wicketkeeper batsman JM Bairstow also played good and made 46 runs. After Tea time England team all out scoring huge 537 runs. RA Jadeja picked up 3 wickets. Mohammed Shami, UT Yadav and R Ashwin took 2 wickets each for India.
