1st ODI : Dhawan, Virat, Rahul and Krunal's 50s followed by pacers excellent bowling led India to crush England by 66 runs
1st one-day international match of three ODI match series played between India and England at Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
Putting into bat first by England, India with Shikhar Dhawan (98), Virat Kohli (56), KL Rahul (62*) and debutant Krunal Pandya's 31 balls 58 unbeaten runs set huge target of 318 runs for England to get. Ben Stokes bowled well and took three wickets for England. Following huge target of 318 runs, England got firing start with Jeson Roy and Bairstow. Both added 135 runs just in 14.2 overs before Roy got out scoring 46 runs. Bairstow also played wonderful inning of 66 balls 94 runs. Other middle and lower order batsmen faild to std in middle for long and lost their wickets in regular interwals. England made 251 runs and lost the match by 66 runs. MP Krishna with 4 for 54, SN Thakur with 3 for 37 and B Kumar's 2 for 30 runs were highlights of Indian pace bowling. Dhawan declared man of the match for his 98 runs. India led 3-match series 1-0 as well.
