1st t20i : Superfine bowling & excellent batting led England to knees down India by 8 wkts and led 5-match series 1-0

1st twenty20 international match of five T20i match series played between India and England at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Earlier, England won the toss and decided to field first. India failed to got good start and lost top three batsmen on 20 runs score. Dhawan (4), KL Rahul (1) and Kohli (0) were top three wickets fall for India. RR Pant made 21 runs before left the field. Shreyas Iyer played good inning of 67 runs and put India on some respectable score of 124 runs in 20 overs. Jofra Archer bowled well and took 3 wickets for England.

Following small target of 125 runs, England with Jeson Roy's 49 runs and J Buttler (28), Dawid Malan (24*) and Jonny Bairstow's 28* runs made chase easily in 15.3 overs and won thte match comprehensively by 8 wickets margin. Jofra Archer declared man of the match for his 3 wickets. England led 5-match series 1-0 as well.
