Resuming 4th day score 39/1, India all out scoring 192 runs and lost the match by huge margins of 227 runs. S gill with 50 runs and Virat Kohli with 72 runs were top scorers for India. Jack Leach took four wickets and James Anderson picked up three wickets for England. Joe Root declared man of the match for his double century with 258 runs in match. England lead 4-match series 1-0 as well.
Day 4 : Ashwin's six-for led India to ended England 2nd inning on 178 runs, India 39/1 & needs more 381 to win on 5th day
Resuming 3rd day score 257/6, India all out scoring 337 runs adding more 80 runs in previous day score. Washington Sundar played superb inning of unbeaten 85 runs for India. Dom Bess took four wickets for England as well. England did not force follow-on to India and decided to bat their 2nd ininning. Unlike 1st inning, England most batsmen failed to stood in middle for long and team England all out scoring 178 runs in 46.3 overs. JE Root with 40 runs were top scorer. R Ashwin bowled superbly and picked up six wickets for India. India got 420 runs target to win the match. India were 39/1 at stumps with S Gill 15* and CA Pujara 12* runs were in middle to bat on 5th day.
Day 3 : Dom Bess four-for & Pujara-Pant's fifties were today's highlights, India 257/6 and still trail by 321 runs
Resuming 2nd day score 555/8, England all out scoring 578 runs adding more 23 runs in previous day score. India colud not made batter start and lost RG Sharma early scoring just 6 runs. S Gill 29, Virat Kohli 11 and Ajinkya Rahane 1 runs were quick wickets and India were in trouble with 73/4. CA Pujara and Rishabh Pant good positive cricket in middle and smashed fifties as well. Pujara made 73 runs and Rishabh contributed quick 91 runs of 88 balls with five massive sixes and 9 fours. Washington Sundar 33* runs and R Ashwin 8* were in middle at stumps day-3. Dom Bess bowled very well and picked up four wickets for England.
Day 2 : Joe Root's epic 218 runs powered England to a dominating edge as 555/8 at stumps
Resuming 1st day score 263/3, England with wonderful batting performances were 555/8 at stumps day-2. Joe played an epic inning of 218 runs and Ben Stokes contributed well 82 runs before left the field. Ollie Pope and Jos Buttler also made their thirties for England as well. Ishant, Jasprit, Ashwin and Nadeem took two wickets each for India..
Day 1 : Joe Root's wonderful ton & Dom Sibley's classical 87 runs inning led England to a 263/3 at stumps
On very first day of 1st Test, England won the toss and elected to bat first. Visitor team got slow but good start initially but, lost quick wickets on team score 63 runs. Rory Burns 33 runs and Dan Lawrence 0 runs were two quick wickets for England. England skipper Joe Root came in middle and played wonderful cricket with Dom Sibley. Both added 200 runs for 3rd wicket as well. Joe Root smashed century (128*) with superb cricket and Dom Sibley contributed well 87 runs before got leg before out of Jasprit Bumrah on last ball of the day. Bumrah bowled well and took 2 wickets. R Ashwin got one wicket for India. England were 263/3 with Joe Root batting on 128 runs at stumps day-1.
