2nd ODI : Bairstow's 124 and Stokes' 52 balls 99 runs powered England to a record chase and won by 6 wkts
2nd one-day international match of three ODI match series played between India and England at Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
Putting into bat first by England, India after 37 for 2 in 8.4 overs managed to set huge target of 337 runs for England to get. Virat Kohli's 66, KL Rahul's wonderful 108, RR Pant's firing 40 balls 77 and HH Pandya's 35 runs of 16 balls were highlights of India inning. Indian batsmen hitz 20 fours and 14 huge sixes in 336 runs. Reece Topley and Tom Curran took 2 wickets each for England.
Following huge target of 337 runs, England made wonderful start with Roy and Bairstow. Both added 110 runs in 16.3 overs before Roy got run out scoring 55 runs. Ben Stokes joined with Bairstow and played superb inning of 99 runs of just 52 balls. Bairstow also played wonderful inning of 124 runs before left the field. England made record chase in 43.3 overs and registered comprehensive win by 6 wickets with 39 balls remaining. Bairstow declared man of the match. 3-match series level 1-1- as well.
