1st One day of 5 ODI match series between India and New Zealand has been played at Dharamsala today. Putting into bat first by Indian skipper MS Dhoni, New Zealand most batsmen failed to bat well today. Indian pace and spin bowlers did well and managed to restrict guest team New Zealand on 190 runs and all out in 43.5 overs. HH Pandya made ODI debut and picked up 3 wickets. A Mishra also took 3 wickets. UT Yadav amd KM Jadhav took 2 wickets each for India. India made easy chase of 190 runs with V Kohli's splendid unbeated 85 runs and presented good 6 wickets win with 101 balls remaining. HH Pandya declared man of the match for his debut match superb performance with 3 wickets in 7 overs spending 31 runs.
Earlier, India won the tos and put New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand lost MJ Guptill in 2nd over scoring 12 runs. Skipper KS Williamson also followed him scoring just 3 runs. LRPL Taylor could not open account and gone for a duck of first ball he faced. New Zealand top orders cheaply and were to deep trouble with 33/3 just in 7th over. Middle orders also failed today and continued to lost wickets in regular interwals. Opening TWM Latham stood in middle and played superb cricket for New Zealand. He made good partnership with TG Southee and put New Zealand on respectable score of 190 runs in 43.5 overs. TG Southee played aggressive inning of 55 runs in 45 ball with 3 massive sixes and 6 fantastic fours. TWM Latham remained not out till and and contributed well 79 runs.
Following small totals of 190 runs, India made good start with RG Sharma and AM Rahane initially. Both played well and added 49 runs for 1st wicket before RG Sharma got out scoring 14 runs, AM Rahane also followed him scoring 33 runs in short interwal. V Kohli and MK Pandey came in middle and played sensible cricket in middle overs and at the same time rotate strike rate as well. MK Pandey made 17 runs before left the field. Skipper MS Dhoni joined with Kohli and contributed well 21 runs before unfortunately got run out. V Kohli continued taking charge in hand and played once again useful and impressive cricket for India. He remeined not out scoring 85 runs and presented India good 1st win by 6 wickets in 5 ODI match series and led by 1-0 against New Zealand.
