Day-4 : Kohli's 213 runs & R Ashwin's fastest 300 wkts led India to crush Lanka by innings and 239 runs and took 1-0 lead in 3-match series
Sri Lanka resume batting with 21/1 in the morning and all out scoring just 166 runs just after lunch time and lost the match by huge margins of an innings and 239 runs. R Ashwin took 4 wickets and knees down Sri Lanka as well. Ashwin also completed his 300 wickets in test and became fastest spiner to reach that milestone in his 54th test match. Skipper L Chandimal played good inning of 61 runs but other batsmen failed to stood in middle for long and lost wickets in regular interwals. Virat Kohli declared man of the match for his 213 runs. India led the 3-match series 1-0.

Day-3 : Kohli's 213 followed by Rohit's 102* powered India to put huge 405 runs lead in 1st inning over Sri Lanka
India resume batting with 312/2 in the morning and continued to bat well as previous day. CA Pujara made 143 runs and V Kohli contributed huge 213 runs before left the field. RG Sharma also played good inning of 102 un-beaten runs and India declared 1st inning scoring 610/6 runs. India got healthy lead of 405 runs over Sri Lanka and were on front-foot as well. Sri Lanka bated 9 overs in later part of day and lost 1 wicket scoring 21 runs.

Day-2 : Vijay-Pujara's tons powered India to a 107 runs lead in 1st inning with 8 wkts remaining as India were 312/2 at stumps
India resume batting with 11/1 in the morning and got healthy support from M Vijay and Ca Pujara with hundreds innings. Both played superb cricket and smashed hundreds as well. M Vijay made 128 runs before left the field and Pujara remain un-beaten with 121 runs at stumps day2. Skipper V Kohli also contributed well 54 un-beaten runs and still in middle to resume batting with Pujara on 3rd day. India were 312/2 at stumps day2 lead by 107 runs and 8 wickets reminings. India will look after to give huge 1st inning lead to Sri Lanka and put some pressure with high class batting on 3rd day.

Day-1 : Ashwin-Jadeja's excellent bowling helps India to finish Sri Lankan inning in 205 on very 1st day at Nagpur
2nd test of 3-match series between India and Sri Lanka begins at Nagpur today. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. The decision not went in visitor's favor and Sri Lanka all out in 79.1 overs having score 205 runs in 1st inning. FDM Karunaratne with 51 runs and skipper LD Chandimal with 57 runs played good cricket for Sri Lanka, rest of the players failed to understand Ashwin and Jadeja's turning balls and kept losing wickets in regular interwals. Ashwin bowled well and took 4 wickets. UT Yadav and RA Jadeja got 3 wickets each for India. India were 11/1 at stumps day-1. India lost KL Rahul early scoring just 7 runs. M Vijay 2* and CA Pujara 2* were in middle to resume batting on 2nd day at Nagpur.
