1st match of three twenty20 international match series between India and Sri Lanka has been played at Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune today. Putting into bat first by Sri Lanka India surrender against Sri Lankan pace attack and managed to put very small totals of 101 runs in 18.5 overs. Sri Lanka achieved given traget in 18 overs having lost 5 wickets and won the match by 5 wickets in very first game of 3 match series. Sri Lanka led series 1-0. CAK Rajitha (Sri Lanka) declared man of the match for his spuerb bowling performances with 3 wickets in his 4 overs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and put India in to bat first. India could not made batter start and lost RG Sharma 0 and AM Rahane 4 in very first over. S Dhawan also gone early scoring just 9 runs. India were 3 for 32 just in 5 overs. SK Raina and Yuvraj Singh tried to shape up inning in middle overs but, both left the field scoring 20 and 10 runs respectively. Skipper MS Dhoni also failed today and made only 2 runs. Hardik Panday also followed him scoring same runs. India lost 7 wickets just in 11 overs scoring just 58 runs, R Ashwin played some good cricket for India and put score of 101 runs for Sri Lanka in 18.5 overs. Ashwin made valuable 31 runs for India.

Following small target of 102 runs, Sri Lanka also could not batter start and lost top orders early on team score 23 runs. But skipper LD Chandimal and CK Kapugedera played sensible cricket and put Sri Lanka in winning position. Rest was done by TAM Siriwardana with 21 unbeaten runs and Sri Lanka registered easy win over India by 5 wickets and made good start of 2 t20i match series and led series 1-0.
