4th Test : Pat Cummins all-round performance & Smith's century led Australia to knees down India by 184 runs and led series 2-1

4th Test match of five test match series played between Australia vs India at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne during Thursday, 26 December to 30 December, 2024.

Day-5

Resume batting on 228/9, Australia team all out scoring 234 runs and set 340 runs for India to get. Batting in 2nd inning, India with poor batting performances all out scoring 155 runs and lost the match by huge margins of 184 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal with 84 runs was top scorer for India. Scott Boland and Pat Cummins took 3 wickets for Australia. Pat Cummins declared man of the match for his 6 wkts and 90 runs in match. Australia led 5-match series 2-1 as well.

Day-4

Resume batting on 358/9, India team all out scoring 369 runs and Australia got 105 runs lead. Batting in 2nd inning Australia score 228/9 at stumps. Labuschagne made 70 runs, Pat Cummins contributed 41 runs and Nathan Lyon still not out scoring very well 41 runs to resume batting on 5th day with Scott Boland 10 runs. Australia lead by 333 runs. Bumrah took 4 wickets and Siraj took 3 wickets for India.

Day-3

Resume batting on 164/5, India with Washington Sundar's sensible 50 runs and Nitish Kumar Reddy's superb maiden century with 105 unbeaten runs score 358/9 at stumps day-3. Nitish Kumar Reddy with 105 and Mohammed Siraj with 0 runs to resume batting for India on day-4. Pat Cummins and Scott Boland took 3 wickets each for Australia. India still trail by 116 runs.

Day-2

Resume batting on 311/6, Australia with Steven Smith's wonderful 140 runs and Pat Cummins's 49 runs score 474 runs in 122.4 overs. Bumrah took 4 wickets and Jadeja took 3 wickets for India. India batting in 1st inning are 164/5 at stumps Day-2. Yashasvi Jaiswal played well and contribute 82 runs. Virat made 36 runs. RR Pant 6* and Jadeja with 4* to resume batting on day-3.

Day-1

Opting to bat first, Australia with top order batemen's superb batting score 311/6 at stumps day-1. Sam Konstas 60, Usman Khawaja 57, Marnus Labuschagne 72 and Steven Smith with unbeaten 68 runs were top scoers for Australia. Jasprit Bumrah bowled well for India and picked up 3 wickets in his 21 overs. Steven Smith with 68 runs and Pat Cummins with 8 runs to resume batting on day-2.
