2nd ODI : Jeffrey Vandersay's 6 for 33 & Asalanka's 3 for 20 powered Sri Lanka to knees down India by 32 runs & led series 1-0

2nd ODI match of three oneday international match series between Sri Lanka vs India played at R Premadasa Cricket Stadium, Colombo on Sunday, 04 August, 2024.

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka with Avishka Fernando & Kamindu Mendis 40 runs each, Dunith Wellalage's 39 runs and Kusal Mendis's 30 runs managed to set 241 runs target for India to get. Washington Sundar took 3 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets for India as well.

Following 241 runs target, India got good start with Rohit and Shubman. Both added 97 runs in 13.3 overs before Rohit got out scoring 64 runs. Shubman followed him scoring 35 runs. Other middle orders failed to bat well and India all out scoring 208 runs. Sri Lanka won by 32 runs. Charith Asalanka took 3 wickets and Jeffrey Vandersay bowled superb spell of 10-0-33-6 and declared man of the match. Sri Lanka led 3-match ODI series 1-0 as well.
