3rd ODI : Avishka Fernando's 96 runs followed by Wellalage's 5 for 27 powered Sri Lanka to upset India by huge 110 runs and seal series 2-0

3rd ODI match of three oneday international match series between Sri Lanka vs India played at R Premadasa Cricket Stadium, Colombo on Wednesday, 07 August, 2024.

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka with top three batsmen's wonderful batting set huge target of 249 runs for India to get. Pathum Nissanka with 45 runs, Avishka Fernando with superb 96 runs and Kusal Mendis' 59 runs were top scorers for Sri Lanka. Debuten Riyan Parag bowled well and took 3 wickets for India.

Following 249 runs, India with very poor batting performance all out scoring just 138 runs in 26.1 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 110 runs. Rohit made 35 runs and Washington Sundar made 30 runs. Dunith Wellalage picked up 5 wicket for Lanka. Avishka Fernando declared man of the math for his 96 runs. Sri Lanka won 3-match series 2-0 as well. Dunith Wellalage declared player of the series for his 7 wickets in series.
