VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 3rd encounter between Gujarat Lions v Kolkata Knight Riders at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on April 7, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Kolkata with remarkable batting performances of openers crushed Gujarat Lions at thwir home by huge margins of 10 wickets at Rajkot. CA Lynn smashed 93* of 41 balls and declared man of the match for his excellent inning.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first and let Gujarat to set target. Gujarat could not batter start and lost JJ Roay early scoring 14 runs. Skipper SK Raina joined with BB McCullum and played superb cricket upto 9th over. BB McCullum left the field in 9th over scoring 35 runs of 24 balls. AJ Finch came in middle and lost wicket in hurry scoring 15 runs of 8 balls. KD Karthik took the chargee in hand with skipper and played quick cricket in later overs. He made well 47 runs of just 25 balls. SK Raina contributed well 68 runs of 51 balls and remained not out till end. Gujarat Lions managed to put good total of 183 runs in 20 overs.
Kolkata in reply bated brilliently and out played Gujarat rudely. Both Opening Batsmen skipper G Gambhir and Ca Lynn go after Gujarat bowler very aggrasively and cross the target just in 14.5 overs and won the match by huge margins of 10 wickets with 31 balls remainings. G Gambhir played very well and smashed 76 of 48 balls. One other end Ca Lynn has a different day today. He targeted all GL bowlers well and smashed fastest fifty of IPL 2017 just 19 balls. He contributed huge 93 runs of just 41 balls with six fantastic fours and eight massive sixes in his brave inning. Both remained unbeaten and presented very well deserve win to Kolkata by huge 10 wickets margin.
