VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 20th encounter between Gujarat Lions vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on April 18, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Putting into bat first by Gujarat, Bangalore managed to put huge score of 213 runs with CH Gayle's 77 of 38 balls and Kohli's 64 of 50 balls. Gujarat in reply faught well but managed to score 192 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 21 runs. YS Chahal took 3 for 21 runs but CH Gayle declared man of the match for his quick 77 runs.
Gujarat Lions won the toss and elected to field first. Bangalore putting into bat first got firing start with in coming man CH Gayle and Virat Kohli. Both went after Gujarat bowlers rudely and smashed fifties as well. CH Gayle in perticular seems in great form today. He completed 10,000 runs in t20 cricket and played firing inning of 77 runs of just 38 balls. He smashed 5 fantastic fours and seven massive sixes in his entertaining inning at Rajkot. Skipper V Kohli also played superb inning of 64 runs of 50 balls. Next batsmen TM Head and KM Jadav kept the momentum on and both played quick innings for Bangalore. TM Head made 30 of just 16 balls and KM Jadav contributed fast 38 runs of just 16 balls as well. With extra-ordinery batting performances Bangalore managed to put huge total of 213 runs in 20 overs. This is a highest score by team in IPL 2017.
Following huge target of 214 runs, Gujarat lost DR Smith early scoring just 1 run. SK Raina joined with BB McCullum and got firing start initially. He played small but quick inning of 23 runs just in 8 balls before got out. Next men AJ Finch (19) and KD KArthik (1) lost their wickets in quick interwals but BB McCullum stood in middle and smashed his 2nd half century just in 30 balls. He played well and made quick 72 runs.Ishan Kishan in later overs played super quick inning of 39 runs of just 16 balls but not enough to sross Bangalore's huge total and lost the match by 21 runs.
