VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 47th encounter between Kings XI Punjab vs Gujarat Lions Rajkot at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on May 07, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Putting onto bat first by Gujarat, Punjab with HM Amla's splendid hundred managed to put huge socre of 189 runs in 20 overs. Gujarat in reply chase successfully the given target having lost 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets with 2 balls remaining to bowl. DR Smith declared man of the match for his superb 74 runs of 39 balls.
Earlier, Gujarat won the toss and elected to field first. Punjab could not made good start and lost MJ Willimson early scoring jist 2 runs. SE Marsh joined with HM Amla and took the charge in hand for Punjab. Both played superb cricket and added 125 runs for 2nd wicket before MArsh got out scoring very well 58 runs of 43 balls. HM Amla once again played good inning of 104 runs and smashed his 2nd hunderd in IPL 2017 as well. Punjab magaged to put huge score of 189 runs in 20 overs.
Following huge target of 190 runs, Gujarat got firing start with DR Smith and Ishan Kishan initially. Both added 91 runs in 9.2 overs before Ishan Kishan got out scoring 29 runs. DR Smith also played good quick inning of 74 runs of 39 balls before left the field. SK Raina and KD Karthik came in middle and took the charge in hand for Gujarat. Both played sensible cricket and put Lions in front foot. Rain departed scoring 39 runs of 25 balls but KD Karthik playede till end of inning and presented good win to Gujarat Lions by 6 wickets with 2 balls remaining.
