VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 51st encounter between Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 11, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Putting into bat first by Mumbai, Punjab put huge score of 230 runs in 20 overs with top orders excellent batting performances. WP Saha made superb 93* runs of 55 balls. Following huge target of record 231 runs Mumbai fought very well but managed to score 223 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 7 runs. WP saha declared man of the match for his 93 unbeaten runs.

Earlier, Mumbai won the toss and put Punjab into bat first. Punjab got firing start with MJ Guptill and WP Saha initially. Both went after Mumbai bowlers well and made 68 runs just in 5.3 overs before Guptill got out scoring quick 36 of 18 balls. Skipper GJ Maxwell joined with WP Saha and he also played super quick inning of 47 runs of just 21 balls with 5 massive sixes and 2 fours. SE MArsh came in middle and kept the momentum on for Punjab and played small but good inning of 25 runs. WP Saha at other played anchoring inning and contributed huge 93 unbeaten runs of just 55 balls and put Punjab on huge total of 230 runs in 20 overs. Ths was a highest team total of IPL 2017 as well.

Following huge taget of 231 runs, Mumbai also got firing start with LMP Simmons and PA Patel as well. Both played quick cricket from the 1st ball and added 99 runs for 1st wicket before PA Patel got out scoring 38 runs. LMP Simmons also followed him scoring well 59 runs of 32 balls. N Rana (12) and skipper RG Sharma (5) failed to stood in middle for long and lost wickets in quick interwals. KA Pollard and HH Pandya came in middle and played excellent quick cricket in middle overs and at one stage put Mumbai on front foot. In last over Mumbai needed 16 runs to win and managed to score 8 runs and lost by 7 runs in last ball finished exxciting match.
