VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 1st Qualifier match between Mumbai Indnas vs Rising Pune Supergiants at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 16, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Putting into bat first by home team Mumbai, Rising Pune managed to put defending score of 162 runs in 20 overs. MK Tiwary 58, AM Rahane 56 and MS Dhoni 40* were top scorers for RPS. Mumbai in reply managed to score 142 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 20 runs. W Sundar declared man of the match for his 3 for 16 runs.

Earlier, Mumbai won the toss and opted to Field first. Putting into bat first, Pune could made batter start and lost inform RA Tripathi early in very first over for a duck. Skipper SPD Smith also failed today and went for a single run. MK Tiwary joined with AM Rahane and played slow but sensible cricket initially. Both played well and smashed fifties as well. AM Rahane gone scoring well 56 runs and MD Dhoni joined with Tiwary for the rest. MS Dhoni initially could not get ball on his area but in later overs with five massive sixes contributed well 40* runs of 26 balls and put Pune on good score of 162 runs in 20 overs. MK Tiwary also played good inning of 58 runs for Pune for decent defending score.

Following target of 163 runs, Mumbai got firing start with PA Patel and LMP Simmons initially. LMP Simmons unfortunately got run out scoring 5 runs. After sudden three wickets by W Sunder put Mumbai in trouble. RG Sharma (1), AT Rayudu (0) and KA Pollard (7) were quick 3 wickets taken by W Sundar with excellent bowling. HH Pandya came in middle but he also got out scoring 14 runs and Pune were on front foot. PA Patel at other end played good agrassive inning and anchore MI inning as well. Patel made 52 runs but other lower orders failed to bat well and managed to score 142 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 20 runs. W Sundar bowled well and took 3 wickets of 16 runs in his 4 overs. He daclared man of the match.

Rising Pune got ticket to finale of IPL 2017 and became 1st finaliest. Mumbai will play with winners of Eliminator to qualify for final of IPL 2017.
