VIVO IPL 2017 season 10 17th encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rising Pune Supergiants at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on April 16, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Putting into bat first by Bangalore Pune Supergiants managed to put 161 runs in 20 overs. Bangalore in reply managed to score 134/9 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 27 runs. Ben Stokes declared man of the match for his 3 for 18 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field first. Rising Pune putting into bat first, got good start with AM Rahane and RA Tripathi initially. Both added 63 uns in 7.4 overs before Rahane bowled by Badree scoring 30 runs. RA Tripathi also followed him contributing well 31 runs of 23 balls. Pune skipper SPD Smith and MS Dhoni took the charge in hand and played sensible cricket in middle overs. Both played good inning of 28 and 27 runs before lost wickets in consecutive balls and Pune were in trouble to put big total. Next men BA Stokes, DT Christian and SN Thakur gone chiply in quick interwals and Pune survive to went on. MK Tiwary came in middle and played super quick inning of 27 runs of 11 balls and put Rising Pune on defending total of 161 runs in 20 overs.

Following target of 162 runs, Bangalore lost Mandeep Singh for a duck and failed to made good start. V Kohli and AB de Villiers were in middle to take charge for RCB. Both played quick cricket and lost wickets in hurry scoring 28 and 29 runs respectively and put Bangalore in trouble in chasing 162. KM Jadav and SR Watson played very slow cricket in middle overs and increase more tension for RCB as well. Other lower orders failed to compit with higher run rates and managed to score 134 runs in 20 overs. Bangalore lost the match by 27 runs.
