VIVO IPL season 10 start with 19th encounter between defending champion Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on April 17, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Putting into bat first by Punjab, Hyderabad managed to put fighting total of 159 runs in 20 overs. DR Warner played well 70 runs inning for Hyderabad. Punjab in reply managed to score 154 runs and lost the match by just 5 runs in tight finished match. B Kumar bowled his career best bowling and picked up 5 for 19 runs, He declared man of the for his remarkable bowling spell.
Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. Hyderabad putting into bat first lost S Dhawan early scoring 15 runs MC Henriques (9) and Yuvraj Singh (0) also left the field early and SRH were in trouble to put big score. Wicketkeeper batsman NV Ojha joined with skipper DA Warner and played good quick inning of 34 runs of just 20 balls and gave some hope to Hyderabad for decent score. DA Warner bated through inning over and made superb 70* runs of 54 balls and managed tp put good score of 159 runs for Punjab to get.
Following target of 160 runs, Punjab lost HM Amla for a duck. Skipper GJ Maxwell also gone early scoring just 10 runs. EJG Margan (13), DA Miller(1) and WP Saha (0) lost their wickets to Afghani bowlers and put Punjab into big trouble in chasing 160. Only M Vohra the opening batsman played good inning of 95 runs in 50 balls and took the match on his shoulders as well. Unfortunately, match gone in favor of Hyderabad as Vohra got out in 19th over and B Kumar's quality bowling upset Punjab and 5 runs in a tight finished match. B Kumar picked up 5 wickets for 19 runs and claim his career best inning in IPL as well.
