COVID-19 Effect : IPL 2020 suspended until April 15 under the threat of Novel Corona virus
IPL 2020 has been suspended untill April 15 following the threat of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) a respiratory illness that was declared as a pandemic by the WHO (World Health Organistion).
Earlier, IPL 13 seasion scheduled to begin on 29th March, 2020 with Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The BCCI and IPL Governing Council confirmed through a media release that, IPL has been Suspended until April 15 as a precautionary measure against the CORONA virus and follow Health Ministry's guidelines to avoid mass gatherings.
The IPL now joins a host of high-profile sporting events including the UEFA Champions League, the NBA and the ATP Tour to be affected by COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).
As the coronavirus being highly contagious and spread through contact, IPL 2020 has been delayed for now and further decision will be taken later on. Let's hope this pandemic illness (CORONA Virus) controlled by medical experts as early as possible.
