Match 64 : MR Marsh's 63 runs, SN Thakur's 4 for 36 and Axar-Kuldeep's 2 wkts each powered Delhi to upset Punjab by 17 runs
IPLT20 2022 Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals Match 64 played on Monday, May 16, 2022 at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
Putting into bat first by Punjab, Delhi lost Warner on very first ball of inning. Sarfaraz Khan and MR Marsh played quick cricket initially. Sarfaraz Khan got out scoring well 16 balls 32 runs. MR Marsh also played superb inning of 48 balls 63 runs before left the field. Other batsmen faild to kept momentum on and Delhi managed to set 160 runs target for Punjab to get. Liam Livingstone and Arshdeep Singh bowled well and took 3 wickets each for Punjab as well.
Following 160 runs, Punjab got quick start with Shikhar & Bairstow initially. Both added 38 runs in 3.5 overs before Bairstow got out scoring 28 runs in 15 balls. Dhawan, Bhanuka, Livingstone and Mayank were important four wickets in quick succession put Punjab in trouble. Jitesh Sharma with 44 runs played well but Punjab managed to score 142 runs and lost the match by 17 runs. Shardul Thakur declared man of the match for his 4 wickets.
