Opting to bat first, Bangalore lost Virat Kohli for a duck on very first ball of RCB inning. Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar took the charge in hand and played good cricket. Rajat Patidar made 48 runs and Faf du Plessis contributed well 50 balls 73 runs. Dinesh Karthik played useful cameo of 8 balls 30 unbeaten runs with 4 sixes and helps RCB to set 193 runs target for Hyderabad to get. Jagadeesha Suchith took 2 wickets for Hyderabad.

Following huge target of 193 runs, Hyderabad's most batsmen failed to stood in middle for lona and lost wickets in regular interwals. Only Rahul Tripathi played good inning of 58 runs. Hyderabad managed to score 125 runs and lost the match by huge margins of 67 runs. Hasaranga de Silva bowled wonderful spell and took 5 wickets of just 18 runs in his 4 overs.
