Putting into bat first by Chennai, Mumbai failed to got good start and lost top three wickets on team score 14 runs in 2.5 overs. Nehal Wadhera with 51 balls 64 runs played good inning for Mumbai and put Mumbai on good defending score of 139 runs in 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana with 3 wickets and Deepak Chahar & Tushar Deshpande with 2 wickets each were top bowlers for Chennai.
Following small target of 140 runs, Chennai with sensible batting from top order batsmen made chase easily in 17.4 overs having lost wickets and won the match comfortably by 6 wickets.
