IPL Match-1 : Krunal's 3 for 29 followed by Phil Salt and Kohli's quick fifties led RCB to win over KKR by 7 wickets at Kolkata
1st Match of IPLT20 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru played on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata at 7:00 pm.
Putting into bat first by Bengaluru, Kolkata got slow start and were 9/1 in 3 overs. After losing de Kock for 4 runs, Sunil Narine with 26 balls 44 runs and Ajinkya Rahane with 31 balls 56 runs gave KKR wonderful start. KKR were 107/2 in 10 overs. KKR other middle and lower orders failed to keep momentum and lost wickets in regular interwals. Kolkata set goot defending target of 175 runs for RCB to get. Krunal Pandya bowled well and took 3 wickets of 29 runs in his overs.
Following 175 runs target, Bengaluru top order batsmen played aggrassive cricket and made chase in 16.2 overs having lost 3 wickets and won the match comprehensively by 7 wickets. Phil Salt made quick 31 balls 56 runs. Virat Kohli contributed well 36 balls 59 unbeaten runs and Rajat Patidar played quick 16 balls 34 runs inning for RCB. Krunal Pandya given Man of the match award for his 3 wickets.
