2016 IPL players auction scheduled on February 6 in Bangalore featuring 714 Indian and Overseas Players. Total 61 players were released by the six IPL franchises when the first trading window closed on December 31. Yuvraj Singh of Delhi Daredevils and Dinesh Karthik of Royal Challengers Bangalore were most expensive players of previous year auction were released and will be auctioned this year. IPL new franchises Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG) and the yet to be named Rajkot team have drafted 5 players till now and will looking for another best players to buy for perfact team combination. Other IPL established teams also participate to buy more effective players for IPL season 9.

Following is the Salary Cap remaining of the eight franchises:

2. Kings XI Punjab (INR 23 crore)
3. Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 17.95 crore)
4. Mumbai Indians (INR 14.405 crore)
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore (INR 21.625 crore)
6. Sunrisers Hyderabad (INR 30.15 crore)
7. Rising Pune Super Giants (INR 27 crore)
8. Rajkot (INR 27 crore)
