23rd Match of IPLt20 2016 has been played between Delhi Daredevils and Gujarat Lions Rajkot at Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium Delhi on 27th April 2016. Putting into bat first by Delhi, Gujarat Lions with top orders splendid batting put huge score of 172 runs in 20 overs. BB McCullum 60 and DR Smith 53 were top scorer for Gujarat. Delhi in reply lost openers cheaply but, CH Morris played extra ordinery inning of 82* runs fo just 32 balls and took match on the last ball of innng. Unfortunatelty Delhi lost the match by just 1 runs but, Ch Morriss declared man of the match for his beave quickest IPL 2016 inning of 82* runs of just 32 balls.
Earlier, Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field. Gujarat Lions made very good start with BB NcCullum and DR Smith. Both played quick cricket and go after Delhi bowlers as well. Both made 112 runs partnership for the 1st wickets before Smith got out scoring quick 53 runs of just 30 balls. BB McCullum also followed him contributing well 63 of 36 balls. Other middle orders could not kept the mobemtum on and contunued to lost wickets in regular interwals. In later overs JP Faulkner played quicj inning of 22 runs of 13 balls and put Gujarat on good totals of 172 runs in 20 overs.
Following target of 173 runs, Delhi lost top 3 batsmen in 16 runs. JP Duminy and RR Pant came in middle and tried to shape up Delhi inning initially. RR Pant left the field scoring 20 runs and Delhi were in deep trouble. JP Duminy and Ch Morris took the charge in hand and played superb inning for Delhi, JP Duminy left the field scoring 48 runs but, CH Morris strom yet to came. He smashed 82* runs of just 32 ball and took the match in interesting situation. At one stage Delhi needed 14 runs in last over. Delhi made 171 runs and lost the last ball finished match by just 1 run. CH Morris declared man of the match for his 82* runs.
