18th Match of IPLt20 2016 has been played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on 23rd April 2016. Putting into bat first by Hyderabad, Punjab put small total of 143 runs in 20 overs. SE Marsh 40 and AR Patel 36* of 17 balls were top scorer for Punjab. Sunrisers made easy chase with DA Warner's 59 runs and won the match by 5 wkts. DA Warner made 59 runs but, Mustafizur Rahman declared man of the match for his 2 of 9 runs in his 4 overs.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to field first. Punjab could not made batter start and lost M Vijay early scoring just 2 runs. M Vohra and SE Marsh played good cricket and tried to shape-up Punjab inning initially. Unfortunately M Vohra got run out scoring 25 runs. SE Marsh played good inning of 40 runs before left the field. In later overs AR Patel played quick inning of 36 runs of 17 balls and managed to put 143 runs on board at the end of 20 overs. Mustafizur Rahman bowled well for Sunrisers and picked up 2 important wickets in his 4 overs of just 9 runs.

Following small target of 144 runs, Hyderabad made good confident start with skipper DA Warner and S Dhawan. Both played good cricket and specifically DA Warner go after Punjab bowlers as well. Both played well and contributed well 59 and 45 runs. Rest was done by middle orders and Sunrisers won the match by 5 wickes
