Rahane-Kohli's 189 runs 3rd wkt stand powered India to knees down South Africa by 6 wickets and led series 1-0
1st ODI of 6-match series between India and South Africa played at Durban today. Earlier South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. Opting to bat first, home team Africa managed to put competitive total of 269 runs in 50 overs. Skipper Faf du Plessis played excellent cricket and made huge contribution of 120 runs for Africa. Kuldeep Yadav bowled well for India and took 3 for 34 runs in his 10 overs. YS Chahal also got 2 wickets as well.
Following target of 270 runs, India lost RG Sharma early scoring 20 runs. Skipper V Kohli joined with S Dhawan and played good cricket initially. Both played well but Dhawan unfortunately got run out scoring 35 of Kohli's false call and India were in trouble. AM Rahane came in middle and took the charge in hand with skipper V Kohli. Both played sensible cricket and smashed fifties as well. Rahane got out scoring very well 79 runs. Virat Kohli smased one another ODI 100 and contributed 112 runs before lost his wicket. This was his 33rd one-day hundred as well. India made chase easily in 45.3 overs and registered wel come win by 6 wickets at Durban. This was 1st ever win at Durban in 9 ODI matchs played here. V Kohli declared man of the match for his remarkable 112 runs. India led 6-match series 1-0 as well.
