RG Sharma's 115 runs and Kuldeep's 4 wkts helps India to crushed Africa by 73 runs and fetch 1st ODI series win in SA
5th one-day international of 6-match series between India and South Africa played at Port Elizabeth today. Putting into bat first by South Africa, India managed to put 274 runs in 50 overs. RG Sharma played well and made 115 runs for India. L Ngidi bowled superbly and took 4 wickets for Africa. South Africa in reply all out scoring 201 runs in 42.2 overs and lost the match by 73 runs. India won ODI series for the 1st time in South Africa as well. RG Sharma declared man of the match for his 115 runs.
Earlier, Suoth Africa won the toss and decided to field first. India got good start with S Dhawan and RG Sharma initially. Both played well and added 48 runs in 7.2 overs before Dhawan lost his wicket scoring 34 runs. Skipper joined with RG Sharma and took the charge in hand for India. He played slow cricket but made good partnership with Rohit as well. Unfortunately Kohli got run out scoring 36 runs and AM Rahane came in middle to joined with Rohit Sharma. He also got tuns out scoring 8 runs and India were in trouble. RG Sharma completed his century and got out scoring 115 runs. After Rohit's wicket India continued to lost wickets in regular interwals and at last managed to score 274 runs in 50 overs. Ngidi bowled well and took 4 wickets for Africa.
Following target of 275 runs, South Africa made good start with HM Amla and skipper Markram as well. Both added 52 runs in 9.4 overs before Markram got out scoring 32 runs. JP Duminy (1) and AB de Villiers (6) also left the field in no time and Africa were in triuble. DA Miller joined with Amla and played good cricket im middle overs. He made 36 runs before left the field. HM Amla played well and contributed 71 runs before got run out. Other lower orders surrender against Kuldeep turning balls and Africaall out scoring 201 runs in 42.2 overs. India won by 73 runs and led series 4-1 as well.
