2nd Test : Siraj's 6 for 15 runs & Bumrah's 6 for 61 led India to all out Africa on 55 & 176 runs respectively, India won by 7 wkts and level series 1-1

2nd Test match of two test match series played between South Africa vs India at Newlands, Cape Town during Wednesday, 03 to Sunday, 07 Januray, 2024.

Opting to bat first, South Africa with very poor batting performances all out scoring just 55 runs in 23.2 overs. Kyle Verreynne with 15 runs was top scorer for Africa. Mohammed Siraj bowled his career best bowling spell 9-3-15-6 for India. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets each as well. India in reply all out scoring 153 runs. India lost last six wickets for no run. Virat Kohli's 46 runs was top score for India. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger took 3 wickets each for Africa. Batting in 2nd inning, Africa were 62/3 at stumps and trailed by 36 runs. Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets. Aiden Markram with 36 runs and David Bedingham with 7 runs were in middle to resume on 2nd day.

Batting in 2nd inning with 98 runs debt, South Africa team all out scoring 176 runs and India got 79 runs target to win the match. Aiden Markram smashed 106 runs for Africa. Jasprit Bumrah picked up six wickets of 61 runs for India. Following small target of 79 runs, India made chase in 12 overs having lost 3 wickets and won the match comprehensively by 7 wickets. Mohammed Siraj declared man of the match for his 7 wkts in match.
