Spinners excellent bowling and Dhawan's unbeaten 132 off 90 balls Powered India to crush host Sri Lanka by 9 wkts
1st one-day international match of five ODI match series between Sri Lanka and India has been played on 20th August 2017 at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. India with all round bowling and top orders batting performances out played host Sri Lanka by huge marging of 9 wickets with 127 balls remaining. Chasing small target of 217 runs, India finished match in 29th over and won by 9 wickets. S Dhawan declared man of the match for his 132* runs.
Putting into bat first by India, Sri Lanka managed to score 216 runs and all out in 43.2 overs. N Dickwella played well and contributed 64 runs for Sri Lanka. Other matsmen got good start but failed to convert their inning for big score. India's spinners bowled well and shared nine wickets each other. YS Chahal 2, KM Jadhav 2 and AR Patel took 3 wickets for India.
Following target of 217 runs, India lost RG Sharma early of just 4 runs. He unfortunately got run out. S Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli took the charge in hand for India and played superb cricket for India. Shikhar Dhawan smashed century and contributed unbeaten 132 runs. V Kohli also played good inning of unbeaten 82 runs to present India comprehensive win by 9 wickets with 127 balls remaining. S Dhawan declared man of the for his excellent 132 unbeaten runs. India led the 5-match series 1-0.
