Day 4 : India with all round excellent performances knees down Sri Lanka by 304 runs & led 3 match series 1-0
India resume batting with 189/3 previous day's score and declared inning scoring 240/3 in 53 overs. V Kohli smashed his 17th hunded with his sensible batting. Sri Lanka given 550 runs target to get.
Most Sri Lankan batsmen failed to stood in middle for long in 2nd inning and all out scoring 245 runs in 76.5 overs & lost the match by huge margins of 304 runs. Opening batsman FDM Karunaratne played superb innig for Lanka and made very well 97 runs. Wicket keeper batsman N Dickwella also played good inning of 67 runs before left the field but those efforts were not enough to save Sri Lanka from defeat as well. S Dhawan made 190 runs in 1st inning for India and he declared man of the match.

Day 3 : Ab Mukund with 81 & Kohli's 76* runs led India to earn huge lead of 498 runs on 3rd day of Galle test
Sri Lanka resume batting with 154/5 previous day's score and managed to put 1st inning total of 291 runs in 78.3 overs. India got 309 runs lead of 1st inning total 600 runs. AD Mathews 83 and Dilruwan Perera 92* were top scorer for Sri Lanka. India didn't force Sri Lanka for follo-on and decided to bat again & put some more runs on borad to chase Sri Lanka in 2nd inning. India lost both centuries men S Dhawan 14 and Ca Pujara 15 runs when team score was 56/2 and rain interuppted the match after Tea time.
After little shower at Galle, India once again came in to bat and with skipper Kohli and Abhinav Mukund superb batting performances India made 189/3 runs at stumps day3. India lead by 498 runs over Sri Lanka and might bat more tomorrow morning to gain more lead and invite host team to defend huge total to win the match.

Day 2 : Sri Lankan top 5 wkts down in 154 runs chasing 600 and put India on front foot on very 2nd day of Galle test
India resume batting with 399/3 previous day's score and managed to put huge 1st inning total of 600 runs in 133.1 overs. Pujara and Rahane resumed batting for India and got out scoring well 153 and 57 runs respectively. R Ashwin also played good inning of 47 runs before left the field. Lower orders HH Pandya and Mhd Shami played quick innings of 50 and 30 runs for India and helps to put huge total of 600 runs in 133.1 overs.
Sri Lanka in reply could not made good start and lost FDM Karunaratne in very 2nd over of inning. MD Gunathilaka joined with WU Tharanga and took the charge in hand for Sri Lanka. In 15th over of Lanka's inning Mhd Shami took 2 quick wickets and put Sri Lanka in trouble. At that stage SL were 3/68. WU Tharanga and AD Mathews played sensible cricket after Tea time and tried to shape-up Sri Lanka inning as well. WU Tharanga unfortunately got run out scoring well 64 runs but AD Mathews still in middle with 54 runs to carry on Lanka's inning on 3rd day. Sri Lanka were 154/5 at stumps Day-2.

Day 1 : S Dhawan (190) & Pujara's (144*) tons powered India to put 399/3 on 1st day of Galle Test
1st Test match of three match series between Sri Lanka and India played during 26th July to 30th July 2017 at Galle International Stadium. Opting to bat first, India with Shikhar Dhawan and Ca Pujara's excellent batting performances managed to put 399/3 runs at stumps on day 1 of Galle Test.
Earlir, India won the toss and chose to bat first. India could not made good start and lost A Mukund early scoring just 12 runs. CA Pujara joined with S Dhawan and played superb cricket for India. Both smashed hundreds and put India on driving seat as India were 399/3 at stumps day-1. S Dhawan played excellent inning of 190 runs before left the field. Pujara also with styliest batting made 144 runs and still in middle to carry on his brave inning on day-2. AM Rahan at other end alsl playing sensible cricket with 39 unbeaten runs to resume batting with Pujara on day-2. V Kohli failed today and got out scoring just 3 runs. India is on commanding position with 399/3 runs.
