1st T20i : Suryakumar's fifty and B Kumar's 4 for 22 led India to knees down Sri Lanka by 38 runs

1st twenty20 international match of three T20i match series played between Sri Lanka and India on July 22, 2021.

Putting into bat first by Sri Lanka, India with Suryakumar Yadav's fifty and S Dhawan's 46 runs managed to set good defending total of 164 runs in 20 overs. Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets each for Sri Lanka.

Following 165 runs target, Sri Lanka managed to score 126 runs in 18.3 over and lost the match by 38 runs. Charith Asalanka played well and contributed 26 balls 44 runs for Sri Lanka. B Kukar bowled well and took 4 for 22 runs and delared man of the match. India led 3-match series 1-0 as well.
