Deepak Chahar's superb 69* runs & 2 wkts with Suryakumar's 53 runs led India to knees Sri Lanka by 3 wkts

2nd One-day international match of three ODI match series has been played between Sri Lanka and India on July 16, 2021. Finds herewith full match report after match concluded on match day.

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka with Avishka Fernando and Charith Asalanka's fifties managed to set good defending target of 276 runs in 50 overs. Chamika Karunaratne also played good quick inning of 44* runs in 33 runs for Sri Lanka. B Kumar and YS Chahal bowled well and took three wickets each for India as well.

Following 276 runs, India lost PP shaw and Ishan Kishan early. Dhawan also got out scoring 29 runs and India were in trouble. Suryakumar Yadav came in middle and played wonderful inning of 53 runs with MK Pandey's 37 useful runs. At one stage India were 6 for 160. KH Pandya played good inning of 35 runs but, B Kumar's 19* runs and Deepak Chahar's superb 69 unbeaten runs presented India remarkable win by 3 wickets with 5 balls remaining. Deepak Chahar declared man of the match. India won 3 match series 2-0 as well.
