Rahane's 100 ton followed by Dhawan and Kohli's quick fifties powered India to crush West Indies by huge margins of 105 runs
2nd one day international of five match series between West Indies and India played on June 25 at Queen's Park Oval, Post of Spain, Trinidad. Rain delaed match cut to 43 overs per side and India were put into bat first by host West Indies. AM Rahane's brillient hundred followed by S Dhawan and Virat Kohli's quick fifties powered India to put huge score of 310 runs in 43 overs. West Indies managed to score 205 runs in 43 overs and lost the match by 105 runs. AM Rahane declared man of the match for his brillient 103 runs.
Earlier, West Indies won the toss and elected to field first. Putting into bat first by West Indies, got excellent start with inform batsmen S Dhawan and AM Rahane as well. Both played good cricket and added 114 runs in 18.2 overs before Dhawan got out after his fifty scoring 63 runs in 59 balls. Skipper V Kohli came in middle and took the charge in hand for India with Rahane. Both played sensible cricket and added 97 runs for 2nd wicket before Rahane lost his wicket scoring brillient 103 runs. Kohli did not stop there and went after WI bowlers well. He smashed 87 runs of just 66 balls with 4 fours and 4 massive sixes in his quick inning. HH Pandya promoted in order but managed to score 4 runs only. Yuvraj Singh also left te field contributing 14 runs. In last few overs KM Jadav played quick 13 runs of 6 balls and put India on huge total of 310 runs in 43 overs (D/L).
Following huge target of 311 runs, West Indies lost two wickets in 4 runs. KOA Pollard and JN Mohammed got out without scoring of B Kumar. SD Hope and E Lewis took the charge in hand for WI and played good cricket initially. E Lewis also fall scoring 21 runs of Kuldeep Yadav and West Indies were in deep trouble to chase huge task. SD Hope played good inning of 81 runs before left the field. Other lower orders could not follow the required run rates and managed to score 205/6 runs in 43 over. India won the match by huge margins of 105 runs and led 5 match series 1-0. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets and B Kumat picked up two wickets for India.
